our candles are made from palm wax, a 100% natural wax derived from the berries and oils of the palm tree. not only is palm wax a renewable resource but as it dries a structure of crystalized starbursts is formed that illuminates the candle's finish and reflects throughout. These gorgeous candles are environmentally friendly and burn smokeless, allowing for very little to no soot left behind. .

We made our first candle as gifts in December 2001. Struggling to find happiness in a corporate world, we were in between jobs. Resourcefulness led to the craft store, paraffin, and a great night. We had such a good time that we decided to make them every year. The same time next year found our apartment kitchen covered in tin foil and better quality candles.
The following summer was one full of pondering the “what to do” question. We loved making candles. Upon many a long discussion, we realized that a life that embodied our values was essential to our happiness, as opposed to being plugged into a life that we did not fit into. Knowing that, our proverbial flames began to flicker. Education and determination and many late nights led to this very website and the candles you experience. Our candles are burned everywhere from Portland Oregon to sunny Florida, we even have fans in Brazil and can be found through out the city of Philadelphia.
